How to Use Shrewd LMS as Teacher

Step-by-step instructions for installing the app, setting up courses, adding and managing activities, and accessing reports — all within Microsoft Teams.

Important Note: Shrewd LMS works natively within Microsoft Teams and does not require Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) configuration. We strongly recommend not using Azure AD groups or custom restrictions to control access, as this may cause unexpected access issues. Manage access using Microsoft Teams settings and policies only.

Step 3 — Configure title, cover image, dates, copy, archive, and notifications

On your Learning page, click Edit Course to access all course settings and configurations.

Course Configuration

1. Course Title and Cover Image

Set a clear and descriptive course title. Upload a cover image that represents your course — this appears in the course listing and dashboard.

2. Start and End Dates

Define the course Start Date and End Date to control when the course is accessible to students. Leave blank for a self-paced course with no fixed schedule.

3. Copying Content from Existing Course

Use the Copy Content feature to duplicate sections, activities, and settings from an existing course. This saves time when creating similar courses.

4. Archiving and Unarchiving Courses

Archive a course when it is no longer active — students will still be able to view completed content but cannot make new progress. Use Unarchive to reactivate a course at any time.

5. Auto-Archive Students

Enable Auto-Archive Students to automatically archive students from a course after a set period of inactivity. This helps keep your student roster clean.
